Outlaw Triathlon Middle Distance

Updated: Mar 21, 2023

Unfortunately, I DNF at Outlaw Triathlon Half. I'm gutted to say the least. I was really looking forward to the race. Having one of the best build ups to a season I have ever had. I was so excited for race week.

On the Thursday before the race I did a bike to run pre-race session. I felt my calf and stopped the session early. I told my coach and Josh about it and decided to rest up till the race, hoping it was tightness.

In the race I had a great swim coming 3rd out of the water in 25.25 and onto the bike I was quickly in 1st. I love the course and on my new TT bike it was even better. Coming into T2 I had around a 10min lead but unfortunately, I slipped on a grass corner 300m into the run and then I couldn't run. After a mile I took my number off and that was it. This race was an A race. To receive my pro license, I had to win the race and with a 10min lead it was all going so well.

My set back is a grade 1 strain in my calf. Which means no running for 2 weeks. Which was the best outcome I could have had. I now have 5 weeks till Challenge Wales where I need to come within 4% of the first pro women across the line. To receive my pro license.
